Coke en trek

Ik heb de indruk dat als ik cocaïne snuif/rook in combinatie met alcohol/GHB het minder verslavend werkt. Het kan ook een valse indruk zijn. Trek is nuchter veel heftiger en moeilijker te weerstaan, werkingsduur verlengt met downers, het gevoel is moeilijker te plaatsen enzoverder. Het gevoel raak ik naar mijn idee ook veel sneller kwijt, beetje zoals het gevoel wat ik overhoud na een nacht MDMA. Het is gewoon heel erg waus. Wat me dan weer de indruk geeft dat het op die manier minder verslavend werkt. Zelfde verhaal met Speed en GHB. Ik besef wel dat je verslaafd kan worden aan de combinatie van beide, zoals met coke/alcohol.

Ook bij coke roken in combinatie GHB steekt trek veel minder snel de kop op en aan andere mensen om basecoke gaan vragen als het op is gebeurt dan niet eens. Op is op. Dat vind ik wel vreemd, gezien waar basecoke om bekend staat. Het heeft waarschijnlijk wat te maken met de invloed die GHB heeft op je dopaminereceptoren, beetje hetzelfde principe als speed snuiven na coke, geen trek meer in coke.

Maar ik ben best wel benieuwd wat nou de echte verklaring is voor het feit dat ik de indruk heb dat de werkingsduur drastisch verlengt en de cocaïne minder verslavend werkt?

Bij coke/alcohol zou het vanwege die stof coca-ethyleen zijn, maar waarom is het dan hetzelfde verhaal met GHB en Diazepam?

Summary Ambulatory activity of male rats was quantified in an open field. The subjects were treated with DL-amphetamine and amfonelic acid alone or combined with the GABA transaminase inhibitors gamma-acetylen GABA

(GAG) and sodium valproate as well as with the GABAA agonist THIP and the GABAB agonist baclofen. Subeffective doses of the GABAergic drugs did not modify the effects of moderate doses of the dopaminergic stimulants whereas effective doses continued to reduce ambulatory activity just as in the absence of dopaminergic activation. When DL-amphetamine or amfonelic acid were administered in doses that strongly enhanced ambulatory activity, doses of the GAB Aergic drugs that were inhibitory in the absence of dopaminergic stimulation were no longer effective. GAG, sodium valproate and baclofen were potentiated by pimozide and SCH 23390 but not by sulpiride. THIP was ineffective. These data show that GABAergic drugs had a reduced effect after stimulation of dopaminergic neurotransmission. On the other hand, when dopamine D1 receptors were blocked, nonselective GABA agonists and the GABAB agonist baclofen were potentiated. This was not the case for the GABAA agonist THIP, suggesting that the GABAA receptor is of slight importance for the interactions between GABA and dopamine in the control of ambulatory activity. No potentiation of GABAergic agonists was obtained after treatment with a dopamine D2 antagonist.

Heb het vluchtig doorgelezen, maar volgens mij zitten hier wel wat antwoorden in.

Als je het met alcohol gebruikt heb ik er ook altijd minder zin in als nuchter, omdat als ik zat ben toch niet meer normaal kan denken en ik ook alles maar half beleef (en dan praat ik wel over écht zat zijn natuurlijk)

Pfff. Jaloers. Ik ben aardig te pakken genomen door het coca-ethyleen-monstertje. Als ik gedronken heb, wil ik altijd nog ff langs de nachtapotheek. Dat wil niet zeggen dat ik dat ook alijd doe. (Maar ik heb daar wel 99,9% van de tijd zin in )

Nou ja, dat staat daar los van, ik weet dat je verslaafd wordt aan de combinatie en dat je trek krijgt in het andere als je 1 van die dingen gebruikt zonder te combineren. Trek in coke bij drank, trek in drank bij coke.

Maar zelfde met GHB dus. Heb de indruk dat de hele ervaring minder verslavend aandoet (dat weet ik wel zeker na nuchter basen) en wou weten waarom. Kennelijk vinden de mods deze vraag niet interessant genoeg though, haha

Coke trek bij alleen alcohol is makkelijk te doorbreken. 2 kermissen hier in de buurt afgaan achter elkaar en je bent ervan af

Kudzu extract may treat cocaine addiction

An extract of the kudzu vine being developed to treat alcoholism may also help treat cocaine addiction, researchers at Gilead Sciences Inc reported on Sunday.

Tests on rats showed the drug could stop them from giving themselves cocaine, the Gilead team reported in the journal Nature Medicine.

Gilead inherited the experimental drug last year when it acquired CV Therapeutics Inc.

"There is no effective treatment for cocaine addiction despite extensive knowledge of the neurobiology of drug addiction," Lina Yao, Ivan Diamond and colleagues wrote.

Kudzu is an old remedy for alcoholism. The vine, native to Asia, has spread across much of the U.S. Southeast after being imported to control soil erosion.

CV Therapeutics made a synthetic extract called selective aldehyde dehydrogenase-2 inhibitor or ALDH2i. It carries the experimental name CVT-10216.

Tests on rats showed it could stop them from giving themselves cocaine. It can also prevent relapse after rats are weaned off cocaine.

They found how it works -- by raising levels of a compound called tetrahydropapaveroline or THP. Cocaine cravings make levels of a brain chemical called dopamine soar and THP interferes with this.

"We propose that a safe, selective, reversible ALDH-2 inhibitor such as ALDH2i may have the potential to attenuate human cocaine addiction and prevent relapse," the researchers wrote.
