start with tamgesic(suboxone)

Hi sorry to write in english as my dutch is too poor to put on paper.I am using Heroine from last 3 weeks as i changed from Methadone to heroine.now from last 3 weeks i am without methadone .I changed to Heroine not for pleasure but as part of treatment.I am afraid to stop with Methadone thajn heroine.
OK now i am tappering down Heroine daily as today i used 1/5 of gram.I want to start with Tamgesic next week when my Heroine dose is just nominal as 1/8 of gram.I am well determined to tapper down .my Doctor gave me 15 tablets of tamgesic(2mg).
Plz,guide me with your respected Knowledege and experiences .I need all information before i start my treatment.----Is tamgesic is good option with so little amount of Heroine i am using now and even going down.---------should i take any other supportive drug.--------Is it better to start tamgesic when i reach minimum amount of heroine .

Hi there.

First off good that your trying to quit heroin.
But what i can not make up from your post is how long you have been using heroin for on a daily basis? If its really just 3 weeks then you don't really need to temper because coming of will be easy.

About the temgesic. It's very important you take the first tablet 24hours after your last heroin dose. If you take it any sooner you will have very bad withdrawls ,but i'm sure your doctor told you about that.

Temgesic are 0,2mg tablets not 2mg
The way i would use them is:

Take 5 tablets(put them under your tong) the first day. Then you take one less everyday. So on the 5the day you take just 1.( 5,4,3,2,1)
Of course it will be better going of on a even lower dose . So you can also try to just take 3 tabs the first day and see if it holds you. If they do and you feel ok. 3-2-1-0,5-0,25. So start with 3 and and with 0,25.

But you will have to be sure first that they are the 0,2 temgesic and not 2mg suboxone tablets.
Because you should not take 5 of them. If you take five 2mg suboxone will make you sick. And we will have to make a different tamper for you.

wanneer je van hero overgaat op buprenorfine, hoef je niet minimaal vier-en-twintig uur te wachten. je kan wachten tot de afkick niet meer draaglijk is en dan je eerste dosis nemen.

eventueel kan je voor de eerste dagen oxazepam erbij nemen om 's nachts te kunnen slapen.

waarom kan jouw arts niet de antwoorden geven op deze vragen?

als ik jou was, zou ik sowieso overstappen op de buprenorfine. het haalt de scherpe randjes van de afkick en het zorgt voor rust / geen trek meer.

ik ben zelf destijds met Subutex 1.0mg. begonnen. na vier uur de andere helft van 1.0mg. uiteindelijk heb ik de eerste twee dagen op 4.0mg. per dag gezeten. dit heb ik toen opgevoerd naar zes - acht en uiteindelijk tien mg. dit was voor mij, voor een periode van twee maanden noodzakelijk, maar dat zal bij een ieder verschillen.

het afbouwen kan je relatief snel voor elkaar hebben. of dat zinvol is, dat is een tweede.

p.s. ik denk dat het goed van je is dat je van methadon naar heroïne bent gestapt, alvorens je met Suboxone gaat starten. dit moet mijns inziens de overstap draaglijker maken

Kan alleen maar de eend gelijk geven! Blijf weg van de methadone!
Ik ben, zonder temgesic want ik was nu toch al eenmaal zover, afgebouwd tot nu net een week nul. Niet echt een leuke ervaring moet ik zeggen!
